Father, son recall details on surviving shark attack in Mass.

A wisecracking Boston native explained Friday why he thinks he survived the first great white shark attack on a Massachusetts swimmer since 1936: He just didn’t taste good.

“So I’m feeling very pleased to be here,” said Chris Myers, who grew up on Joy Street in Beacon Hill but now lives in Colorado. He was attacked Monday afternoon while swimming with his 16-year-old son, J.J., off the shores of Ballston Beach in Truro.

You see, sharks can't see too well, and what they have observed over many years about humans is that they don't go out very far (certainly not 400-500 yards, and even if they do, they usually wear a wetsuit, and almost never appear as a pair). (I mean, frankly, that water was too cold no to wear a wetsuit.) Ergo, must have been a couple of seals. But, yah, just thinking about the taste enough to make me nauseous (that's probably not a bad thing). Very disturbing too for the shark. Just picture youself thinking you're biting into a nice sirloin steak and it tastes like liver...

Why is this person getting 15 minutes of fame?

Really a non-story. If it really was a great white, I think he'd have more than a few dozen stitches. News stations report "a month to rehab." Really? Everyone loves a good [shark] tale. Time to move on.
