In the second installment of a crackdown meant to reduce deadly accidents on Route 24 and Interstate 195, troopers ­arrested 10 alleged drunk drivers, made nine other arrests, and wrote 262 tickets last weekend, State Police said Monday.

Those arrested during the “patrol surge” that has beefed up State Police presence on those roads ­included Laurie ­Lacle, 48, accused of driving drunk and striking a police cruiser on Interstate 195 in Fall River. Others included an ­impaired driver going the wrong way on ­Interstate 195 in Fairhaven and a driver who crashed into another vehicle on Route 24 and then tried to flee, State Police said.

Six people were arrested Friday night and Saturday morning, while four were arrested Saturday night into Sunday morning. The arrests happened on the two major roads, as well as feeder roads in the area.

The State Police truck enforce­ment team was also ­deployed three early mornings last week on the roads. Troopers on the team ticketed 47 truckers for speeding those mornings, State Police said

It is the second week of the crackdown, expected to last through the end of September. Eleven extra patrols are assigned to the roads from 8 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday and from 8 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday.

The combined total for both weekends is 19 arrests for operating under the influence, 16 other arrests, 12 summonses, and 484 tickets, State Police said.
