Cambridge firms develop software to check campaign facts
CAMBRIDGE -- Campaign ads are already flooding the airwaves. As election day draws near, that torrent will turn into a tidal wave. The question for voters is how to separate facts from falsehoods, and to figure out who is behind each ad. Soon, the answer may be a click of a smartphone away. Two Cambridge enterprises have developed digital tools that allow TV viewers to see which group paid for for an ad to how the facts stand up.
