Police arrest teen after birthday party killing

Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy and accused him of shooting and killing a 38-year-old man who attempted to intervene when the teenager tried to disrupt a birthday party in Springfield. Police monitoring the suspect’s Wilbraham Street home arrested him when he tried to get in a cab shortly after the early Saturday shooting. Officers had found Antonio Gonzales suffering a gunshot wound to the chest. They performed CPR and he was taken to Baystate Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Investigators identified the suspect and discovered that he was heading to his home. (AP)
