A Dorchester man pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court to four counts of arson, federal prosecutors said. Jose L. Baez, 40, set fire to four buildings in Boston and Cambridge in the span of less than two years, all buildings that he had connections to, the US attorney’s office in Boston said. Baez was arrested on Aug. 9, 2010, and has been in custody since, said Christina DiIorio-Sterling, a spokeswoman for the US attorney’s office. Baez could face years of jail time and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines in addition to up to 40 years in prison for a fire he set at a Roslindale residence that injured four firefighters, she said.
