Team helps Lowell hiker hurt on Mount Monadnock

A Lowell woman suffered a severe leg injury while hiking Mount Monadnock Saturday afternoon, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department said. Mia Parviainan, 27, of Lowell hurt her lower leg while descending the White Arrow Trail from the summit of Mount Monadnock in Jaffrey, N.H., the department said. She was assisted off the mountain amid rain and cooling pemperatures by Fish and Game workers, volunteers for the Upper Valley Wilderness Response Search and Rescue Team, and more than 40 students and staff from Franklin Pierce University, the statement said.
