Gloria Negri, who leaves the Globe on Friday after 53 years, reported from many of the world’s trouble spots, and chronicled many local, national, and international historical milestones of the past half-century. She has inspired friends and colleagues with her determination to get the story, but also was a trailblazer in a business that had few women reporters when she started out, and in which editors were reluctant to send women on dangerous assignments.
