Warren edges Brown in 2 new polls

Two new polls show Elizabeth Warren leading Senator Scott Brown, one by six points and the other by two points, suggesting a possible bump for the Democratic candidate following the two parties’ conventions.

A Springfield Republican poll, taken Sept. 6 through Sept. 13 by the Western New England University Polling Institute, shows Warren leading Brown, a Republican, 50 percent to 44 percent among likely voters. The group polled 444 likely voters and reported a margin of error of plus or minus 4.6 percent. (The newspaper reported a wider margin of support for Warren, 12 percent, among a slightly larger group of registered voters polled.)

That's great news! Massachusetts doesn't buy what Brown is selling. His record just doesn't match the rhetoric.

"his voting record doesn't match his rhetoric" because he does not want us to look up his voting record. Scott Brown lies about talking with kings & queens, an insider trading bill he claims cerdit for that wasn’t even his, what stock Brown owned while he voted for tax breaks for big oil and banks. He says one thing and votes the opposite again and again and again: see equal pay, debt and tax breaks for big oil, transparency and more. Nice ads as a family man though. He hopes you are so impressed, you will forget to check his voting record.

Come on Globe, it isn't relevant information that the 444 likely voters is almost 3 to 1 Democrats,
163 Democrats, 61 Republicans and 217 Independent (3 not identifying) ?

A Democrat-heavy leaning poll like this in a Democrat state and Warren comes up only 6 points ahead?
Not much of a rallying cry.

I don't believe it. I know lots of people and none of them are going to vote for Warren.

You must know a lot of Dennis & Callahan shut-ins

I will bet anyone who works at the Globe/is behind this article $100 that warren does not win this race.

Hard to know what this poll means but it's not good news for the Brown camp. This is a state where the Democrats will have a higher add on because of the huge  majority for the President. Even if it were tied Warren has the extra presidential push. Brown will have to have a five point lead going into the election to have a solid chance. If Brown doesn't have that he might as well start his cappaign for Governor now.

Why do you think "The Accidental Senator" just went negative?

Polling in Amherst and Northampton. A valid survey you think?

According to the Globe polls how many points was Marsha ahead of Brown ?

Good point but Coakley's support was always soft and there was no other reason for Democrats to go to the poles. This is a presidential election and in this state that means that there will be a lot more people with a D next to their name at the poling places than people with R's.

True System but that can be said for both sides.
