As the biking community reels after the death of two Boston bicyclists within the past week, biking experts are saying that the city is in a transition period as its number of bicyclist outpaces motorists’ ability to safely navigate around bicyclists. The increasing popularity of biking as a mode of transportation, fueled by the expanding Hubway bike-share system, has outpaced motorists’ awareness and understanding of how to navigate around the growing hordes of bikes on city streets, experts said.
