‘Whitey’ Bulger’s girlfriend pays $150,000 fine

Catherine Greig, James “Whitey” Bulger’s longtime girlfriend, has paid the fine that was imposed along with her prison sentence, according to court records. Federal court records indicate that Greig made a $150,063.44 payment on Friday. In mid-June, Greig was sentenced to eight years in prison for helping the gangster evade capture for 16 years. Her lawyer told reporters after the sentencing that she remained devoted to Bulger, who faces charges that include 19 murders, and did not believe he was capable of such horrible crimes. US District Judge Douglas P. Woodlock, in addition to the prison sentence, imposed a $150,000 fine.
