Joseph “JoJo” Burhoe, a former member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 82 who was accused this month in a federal racketeering indictment of extortion and mail fraud, was released on a $50,000 bond Thursday, officials said. Burhoe is one of four men charged with shaking down businesses to get jobs for themselves, friends, and family members, and of intimidating anyone who wanted to get in their way. He was expelled from the union before his arrest. Burhoe’s trial will continue on Oct. 24.
