Police launch online crime report system

The Bangor Police Department is using the Web to take crime reports from the public. The department says its new reporting system will allow people to file reports for minor thefts, car break-ins, vandalism, lost property, and harassing phone calls at their convenience over the Internet. People can file online crime reports if there is no evidence to be collected, there are no suspects, and if the crime happened in Bangor. Officials say the reports will be reviewed by police and given the same investigation and analysis as reports filed in person.
