Drivers die in two weekend crashes

A wrong-way driver was killed in a crash in Framingham late Saturday night, while another driver was killed in a North Andover crash early Sunday, according to authorities. The wrong-way driver, Laura Nichols, 35, of Framingham, died about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Framingham police said. She had been alone in her Hyundai on Fountain Street near Jodie Road when she crossed into the opposite lane, striking another car head on, according to police. A male passenger in the other car was taken to Metro West Medical Center in Framingham. A man in his 20s was killed in an accident in North Andover at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, according to police there. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, at Salem Street near Campbell Road. His identity has not been released and the accident is under investigation.
