Republican US Senator Scott Brown portrayed himself as an independent voter and thinker in Washington, while his Democratic challenger, Elizabeth Warren, charged that he had voted “in lockstep” over and over with Republicans, as the two clashed in a debate at the University of Massachusetts Lowell tonight.
“I have a history of working across the aisle,” Brown said. “I take great pride in that independence.”

I thought Ms. Warren hit it out of the park tonight. She was much more aggressive than the first debate and countered Senator Browns assertions effectively and forcefully. He looked like he was on the defensive most of the night and was looking silly re. the Indian topic, which has very little to do with the election.
I have not watched it yet but she did look weak in round one. If she said the word Republican enough and countered aggressively with facts about his voting record and support for Mitt then she did a lot better.
All she has to do to win here in MA is remind everyone that Brown is a Republican this year- with Obama on the ballot Brown will start with a 15 to 20 point deficit... he'll need a lot of crossover votes to win. African American voters will turn out huge again this year Barack on the ballot and vote the ticket. Brown is starting out in a deep hole. Not sure if there is a path to victory for Scott...
It is kind of sad to watch the more moderate condidate lose... but in this climate to vote for Republican control of the US Senate would be insane. You'd have people who do not believe in some of the most simple scientific truths controlling the agenda... and we need to raise revenue to pay for the the decade of warfare we've been in. Just about everyone is willing to accept tax increases right now to get us out of this hole... we cannot afford more tax cuts or a continuation of the current rates and remain viable in the world.
I guess the liberal elitist from Harvard beats the light colonel this year- damn shame. I'll be holding my nose when I vote for Liz.

Justice Scalia oh really enough said, Elizabeth Warren you rocked....
Brown's ideal Supreme Court Justice is Scalia???? There is nothing bipartisan about Scalia. Then, Brown lies repeatedly with his laughable assertion that he has voted 50% with the Democrats. Fun Fact: Brown voted 75% of the time with his Republican colleagues to block legislation that had the support of 50 or more Senators (93% of the time before Elizabeth Warren entered the Senate race). And, Brown reluctantly conceded to David Gregory that all the fuss his own campaign has made about Elizabeth Warren's Native American ancestry is "not disqualifying." Then why is Brown blanketing the airwaves with the Native American nonsense? Are Brown's TV ads an appeal to racism?
Elizabeth Warren was excellent and got her share of rousing support. He did as wel get some support but again I thought he came across as phony and a bully. I simply do NOT like him. He knows how to give a polished political line but when push comes to shove he will vote NOT independent but vote Republican. He is NOT an independent he has an R at the end of his name. I wish she had said that. He is a Repubican and could ensure that the Repubicans a deadly compost could get a majority. I don't think they will but it could happen. It is ESSENTIAL this brilliant woman win this seat. She is EMINENTLY qualified. I think she stood up VERY well against a hard to fight with bully.
I would have raised his tomahawk chop chorus line of racist bullies and asked him if he had any knowledge at all even a smidgen that they were going to do this henous thing and I would have asked him if he ever gave a nod to liars loans when he worked as an attorney of a company that has allegedly been in deep trouble.
Yes, Brown TOTALLY flubbed his favorite Supreme Court justice...even the audience made up of both camps gasped. He was all over the map because in reality he is NOT a progressive, he is NOT really an independent voting with Democrats he is a Republican voting most of the time with Repubicans and would vote even more with them IF he is handed a second term. He does NOT belong there, he is a smart politician but he is NOT a smart person. She outdid him by MILES in her grasp of the economic conditions!!
Scalia? Brown had better hope the deep-blue electorate in this state is both much less informed and much less deep blue than every piece of history indicates. Hanging the Roberts Supremes around his neck is almost certainly a move that won't be long coming from Warren's camp.
The junior denator from Mass. has turned "Professor" from an honorific into a slur. I think Warren should refer to the senator ONLY as Republican Scott Brown. It might have an effect on him. Remind voters of his connection to Senator McConnell.
Oops, that's "junior senator," not junior detonator.
Is this an editorial or the news!!!
Well from reading the debate a lot of thunder and noise about nothing. Only a real zealot could rant on about who won. Basically boring. I found nothing that either candidate said especially stirring and the "heritage" issue, man what a waste that is. People were or should have been looking for politcy and instead get whether or not one is an Indian. Please.
Warren gave what appears to be a rehash of her normal campaign spiel. So if you like boring contests that was apparently the one to watch. Winner? Probably some show on another station.
