Police identify 3 women who died in Newport Harbor accident

Police in Newport, R.I., identified three women who died after their vehicle flipped over and was partially submerged in Newport Harbor on Friday. The victims were Jennifer Way, 39, of Saunderstown, R.I.; Louise Owen, 39, of the United Kingdom; and Femmetje Staring, 39, of Holland. The women were found around 6:30 a.m. Friday by a driver making a delivery to the Newport Shipyard and Marina. Police are continuing to investigate, but said there are no indications of foul play. The Newport Daily News reported that police Captain Russell Hayes said Friday that the driver apparently had missed a right-hand turn.
