Liz Green said she used to feel safe taking a midafternoon stroll alone down a stretch of Commonwealth Avenue surrounded by Boston University’s campus, buzzing cars, MBTA trolleys, and hordes of pedestrians.
But Wednesday, she had her boyfriend, Eric Hwang, walk with her on the way to pick up a cup of coffee.

Although the suspects are black the media does not identify the race of the victims. If the victims are not black then we have a racists situation where black males are predators on whites. If so, will there be the same outrage as in the martin case. We need to clarity on this - why is the media holding back on the victims?
Regarding pepper spray. The wise legislators have decided that you need to be licensed to carry pepper spray. I guess they feel it's to protetht criminals from marauding college coeds. Please talk to the local police about proper paper. Otherwise you may find yourself in more trouble than the people trying to rob you or do worse.
Worse, under G.L. c. 269 s. 10(j) even if the students have the right permit, they risk a felony prosecution for carrying a "dangerous weapon" on university/college grounds. One might argue about whether pepper spray is, or should be, a dangerous weapon, but I wouldn't want to risk a felony arrest record to find out.
The victims have not commited a crime; we are not looking for them. No need to reveal their race.
