Police in Rhode Island said that an 18-month-old boy died after reportedly being struck by a bookshelf that had tipped over. Woonsocket police said the toddler was pronounced dead at Landmark Medical center Monday afternoon after emergency crews responded to a report of a medical emergency. Police were told that a wooden bookshelf had toppled over onto the boy’s chest. Authorities said an investigation continues.
