Boy, 14, charged in Dorchester killing

Fatal stabbing in group attack in Dorchester

A 14-year-old boy was charged Monday with the stabbing death of a 39-year-old man who resisted when a group of teenagers tried to rob him near the Fields Corner MBTA station Oct. 6.

The boy, Ernest Watkins IV,was one of at least four teenagers who allegedly attempted to rob Cherby LaJoie, authorities said, but Watkins was singled out by witnesses as the one who repeatedly plunged a knife into the victim. LaJoie was stabbed 37 times.

Stabbed 37 times? Robbery? Where exactly is the Fields Corner MBTA and remind me never to go there. This was gang related and sounds like retaliation.

Stabbing repeatedly 37 times sounds like extreme RAGE -- an inner rage projected onto the victim. I'm convinced that most of the rage of young black males stems from their lack of present and involved fathers in their lives. 75% of black children are fatherless, versus 25% of white kids. Fatherlessness is also the top shared trait of criminals. (I'm not a psychologist but I was a teacher for many years).

the liberals and black community will not face this problem...nor will the fathers of many illiget own up to their responsibility. Welfare made a better way of life, free EBT cards, sec. 8 homes takes away the responsibility of fathers to support their children. The role model for these young blacks or whites are gangs and not parents. Jobs even entry level are now taken by your college grads. that cannot get a job or seniors on social sec. Until discipline is used in schools and churchs step up to help these youths and most are inner city...these crimes will prevail.....37 times stab how horrible for that person....what have we become in society.

Maybe he didn't have a police record, but if he was in an alternative school, he had a lengthy record within the school system. You don't get into one of those "alternative" programs unless there are numerous serious incidents.
