Earthquake strikes Southern Maine, tremors felt in Boston

A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck Southern Maine this evening and tremors were felt in Boston.

The US Geological Survey reported the quake struck west of Hollis Center, Maine at 7:12 p.m.


News of the earthquake began spreading quickly on Twitter, as many residents in the Boston area reported feeling tremors.

There were no immediate reports of damage.
