The Coast Guard assisted a fishing vessel off the coast of Nantucket that was taking on water early Saturday morning and sent it safely back to port. The boat, which had seven people on board, began taking on water at about 4:18 a.m., said Coast Guard spokesman Adam Stanton. The Coast Guard sent a helicopter and a Falcon Jet to assist the boat crew at 6:22 a.m., he said. They provided the boat with two pumps, which already had two running, Stanton said. The pumps were enough to contain the flooding and allow the crew to find the source of the leak, a 4-inch hole in the engine room, and plug it, he said.
