Man found in Financial District dies

A young man was pronounced dead early Saturday after police said they found him unconscious and with a head injury in the Financial District.

The man, whose name has not been released, was in his 20s, police said in a statement. He was found in the area of Franklin and Broad streets at about 2:15 a.m. and transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Cheryl Fiandaca, a Boston police spokeswoman, said in an email Saturday night that the man appeared to have died as a result of his head injury, which he may have incurred in a fall.

Boston police are investigating the incident. Police are asking that anyone with information to call 617-343-4470, or 1-800-494-Tips.
