There was a full house at the Church of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha in Plymouth Sunday to celebrate Tekakwitha’s canonization, which made her the first Native American saint from North America, church officials said.
“We have been praying for her canonization in our parish for 28 to 30 years,” said Deacon Edward Creutz. “And this is an answer to the prayers, so we are very delighted that the day has finally come.”
