Ex-clerk at Registry convicted in license scheme

A Leominster woman who worked as a Registry of Motor Vehicles clerk was convicted Wednesday of producing false driver’s licenses, said the office of US Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz. Vanessa Peguero, 27, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to produce false identification documents, as well as producing a false identification document, Ortiz’s office said. Peguero falsified driver’s licenses from February 2010 until June 2012 and obtained licenses for individuals who presented legitimate Puerto Rican identity documents, albeit in an identity other than their own, the statement said.
