The leading political action committee opposed to Maine’s gay marriage referendum raised nearly $1 million in October, with most of the money coming from the National Organization for Marriage. In its latest financial report, Protect Marriage Maine says it raised $950,000 from Oct. 1-23. That pushed its overall fund-raising to $1.4 million.
