A year after a freak October nor’easter dumped record snow on parts of Massachusetts, forcing many communities to postpone trick-or-treating, Mother Nature is again playing Halloween tricks. With Hurricane Sandy expected to slam the area on Monday and Tuesday, many communities are considering moving the date again in anticipation of power outages and downed trees. Gloucester, a community with storms in its DNA, chose instead to get ahead of it, and moved its trick-or-treating to Oct. 28 this year.
