A 20-year-old University of Southern Maine student is facing charges that he set three fires inside his dormitory. The state fire marshal’s office said Jordan Maroon, a junior from Winslow, is charged with setting two posters on fire and starting a third fire in a trash can inside Philippi Hall on USM’s Gorham campus. The fires were reported at 4:30 a.m. Monday. Officials said that no one was injured and that the fires were extinguished before they could cause any damage.
