A flock of wild turkeys caused a two-car crash on Interstate 91 over the weekend, police said. Diane McIntyre of Windham, Conn., was traveling north in Westminster on Saturday and slowed down to avoid the birds crossing the highway. The driver behind her, Elizabeth Libbey of Charlemont, Mass., got distracted when a turkey flew toward her vehicle at eye level and struck the rear of McIntyre’s car, police said. Libbey’s car ran off the road, and McIntyre’s car spun into the breakdown lane, police said. The Rutland Herald reported that McIntyre and Libbey’s passenger were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
