Prosecutors say $30m not enough for drug lab scandal fallout

The state’s 11 prosecutors’ offices are contending that the Patrick administration’s request for $30 million is not enough for them to deal with the costly fallout of the drug lab scandal centered on former state chemist Annie Dookhan.

This week, Administration and Finance Secretary Jay Gonzalez formally notified top lawmakers that the administration wants to create a $30 million reserve account to pay for Dookhan-related expenses through February.

If the Patrick Administration had checked Annie Dookhan's academic credentials, the public could have been spared this $30 million dollar debt and public safety risk. Hey bjdurk. Dookhan was hired nine (9) years ago. Who was governor 9 years ago? I couldn't have been the current candidate for President, could it?

Hey, I think it was. It was Gov. Romney when Dookhan was hired.

You're so interested in making an anti-Patrick political statement that you just make things up out of your empty head. That makes your post totally worthless. And it should make you feel ashamed, but it won'.

I don't think we should be just throwing huge amounts of money at the DA's. Their request for additional funds at this point seems irresponsible. If the $30 million is in danger of running out down the road, request more at that point.
