Middle class advocate Warren tops Brown in Senate race

Democrat Elizabeth Warren, the Harvard Law professor who promised to battle for a struggling middle class, defeated incumbent Republican Scott Brown tonight in the Massachusetts Senate race, despite Brown’s attempts to paint himself as a one of a dying breed, a moderate New England Republican.

The victory by Warren, who made history as the first woman elected to serve as a US senator from Massachusetts, marked a comeback by the state’s Democrats after Brown’s bruising 2010 upset win in a special election to fill the seat left vacant by liberal lion Edward M. Kennedy.

Lesson for Scott Brown: You can't be a nice guy and run a campaign based on personal attacks. Senator Kennedy...RIP. Congrats, Sen Warren.

So proud of the voters of Mass who ignored relentless lies and instead recognized a person of integrity and commitment to the highest principles. We have voted in as our Senator a true progressive. Elizabeth will truly fight for what is best for the middle class of Mass and for the country.

I am so happy and proud of my fellow citizens of the Commonwealth.  I am so glad to call Elizabeth SENATOR.  I am have been tired of the horrible attacks upon our senator elect and happy that she will represent us for 6 years.  Thank you, Senator elect, thank you MA!

Lesson for Scott Brown: Next time, listen to your constituents rather than power and money.

We should all be so proud.  We elected a lying limousine liberal, a money laundering congressman and another congressman whose only claim to fame is his name.  We truly get what we deserve in this state!
