Notorious gangster James “Whitey” Bulger has returned to a Plymouth jail after a brief hospital stay in Boston, the US Marshals Service said. The Marshals Service confirmed Tuesday that Bulger was back in custody at the Plymouth County Correctional Facility, but released no other information. Bulger was taken to Boston Medical Center early Sunday after complaining of chest pains; he was previously examined at a Boston hospital in December. In a sweeping federal indictment, Bulger, 83, is accused of participating in 19 murders.
