Rep. Tierney hangs on to win Sixth District

SALEM — Despite a deluge of outside spending and a withering challenge from a longtime state legislator, US Representative John F. Tierney held on Tuesday to win a ninth term by the narrowest margin since his first victory.

Tierney descended to the ballroom at Salem’s Hawthorne Hotel about 12:30 Wednesday morning to declare victory, holding his wife’s hand aloft and basking in the cheers of 100 remaining supporters. He made an elliptical reference to the family scandal that had dogged him throughout the campaign and provided ample fodder for challenger Richard R. Tisei.

T ran a dirty campaign and offerednothing substantial. All the Carl Rove moneyand still lost.. Go home Richie , you are getting what you deserve.

This was a very ugly campaign that many of us who knew John and Patrice did not expect to win.  But those of us who worked the hardest for him knew that John had worked just as hard for our district and the average hardworking families here.  His goals were our goals.  Personal enrichment was never part of his public service.  And those that knew him best were the most loyal to him.  I'm glad that the President won and very happy that Elizabeth Warren prevailed.  But we all know that the rewards of loyalty are not always of this world.  That John Tierney will continue to serve as our Congressman is sweet beyond words.

corruption pays off in Mass. as usual and also having a Kennedy name

No, "beantown" -- Being a Democrat in Massachusetts pays off. If all of these so-called "moderate" Republicans want to get somewhere, maybe they should run as "independents", like Angus King or Bernie Sanders. The Scott Brown slogan was "Vote the Person, Not the Party". Oh, yeah?, Then leave that party, Republicans, if you want a chance in Mass.

The third party candidate had a major impact on this race.

This race tells you everything you need to know about politics in Massachusetts. Forget about ethics, forget about integrity, forget about honesty, forget about working hard. Just don't forget to put that "D" after your name.

This  maybe Tierney win is nothing but what one expects in a one-party state whose voters are as tolerant of corruption and corrupt pols as voters in Massachusetts seem to be.  Recall James Michael and his incarceration experiences with voters.

Massachusetts, the State that rewards corruption and untruths.

Tisei blew it in the last few weeks of the campaign by focusing almost exclusively on Patrice's caprices and trying to hard to villianize John. He didn't know when to stop. He got too ugly over it and it was a big turn off. The only silver lining in Tierney's victory: Patrice's skanky db brothers can't claim victory. The brothers' "endorsement" added only taint and sully to Tisei's already misguided campaign strategy. Do some growing up Tisei, then try again and get it right.

Hahahahahahaha! Well, the good news is all you traumatized Massachusetts right-wingers can apply for prescriptions for medical MJ to treat your trauma, and you can stay in a fog for the next four years. See ya ---- wouldn't want to be ya!

I held my nose and voted for Tierney. It was a matter of numbers in the house. Of course, after a year of wild campaigns and obnoxious advertising, nothing has changed. Let's hope they can get along a bit better over the next four years.

You must be a total moron.

Massachusetts residents ... you just lost your right to complain about corruption in politics.  That you would vote this man back in office speak volumes to either your ignorance or apathy.
