The final group of soldiers on a yearlong deployment to Afghanistan to provide security for provincial reconstruction efforts is set to return this week. Major General Kevin McBride, head of the Rhode Island National Guard, said the soldiers from Company C, First Battalion, 143d Infantry Regiment are scheduled to return Friday.
