A 20-year-old Wareham man was killed Saturday morning in a single-car crash that left the driver injured. Shortly after 3 a.m., officials responded to a wooded area near Charge Pond Road in Wareham and found a 2008 Chevrolet Impala “with extensive damage” resting on its side, according to a statement from Wareham police. The vehicle’s passenger, Jordan Lopes, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver, Jonathan Lydon, 20, of Wareham, was taken to Tobey Hospital in Wareham for injuries not believed to be life-threatening. “They took quite a jolt. They went at least 200 feet off the road,” said police Lieutenant Kevin Walsh. Wareham Police and State Police are investigating the incident.
