Bird sightings

Recent bird sightings as reported to the Massachusetts ­Audubon Society:

Northern lapwings are still making headline news. Two lapwings continue to be seen at Hummock Pond at Nantucket, another individual is still frequenting farm fields along Summer Street in Bridgewater, and yet another was found at Allens Pond in South Dartmouth. Also seen at Allens Pond this week were a white ibis, six white-rumped sandpipers, two Forster’s terns, as many as 55 cave swallows, and 100 American pipits.
