No signs of tradition flagging at annual Harvard-Yale game
Tradition is everything at Harvard. So when the powers that be changed a tradition that dates back to 1884, there was heck to pay. Some old-timers have thumbed their nose at the Harvard Varsity Club and reinstituted the tradition of having the Harvard man who has attended the most Harvard-Yale football games carry the Little Red Flag. On Saturday, as the Crimson and Bulldogs faced off for the 129th time, the honor went to Dick Bennink, class of ‘38, who attended The Game for the 73rd time in his 95 years.
