A head-on crash between two sport utility vehicles in Portland sent 10 people to the hospital Sunday morning, two with critical injuries, according to authorities. Sebastian Bukuru, 44 of Westbrook, was driving his 2002 Ford Explorer on Marginal Way just after 11 a.m. when he crossed the center line and struck a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee head on, according to Portland police. Of the six people in the Explorer, two were in critical condition at Maine Medical Center. The four people in the Jeep were all in serious condition, police said. Nine of the injured were taken to Maine Medical Center, and one was taken to Mercy Hospital, police said. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The Police Department asks that anyone with information contact the department’s traffic division at 207-874-8532.
