Owl euthanized after rescue from Green Line tracks

An injured owl rescued from the MBTA Green Line tracks this morning had to be euthanized because he had a wing injury, the MBTA said.

The small owl, promptly named Hoot by the workers who found him, was found lying on the tracks near Waban Station in Newton around 7:45 a.m.
