Fire officials say a newspaper carrier called 911 and awakened a family after noticing their home was on fire during his morning route. No one was injured in the fire early Thursday at a trailer in Columbia, about 50 miles east of Bangor; the four people inside escaped safely. The Bangor Daily News reports its carrier called 911 about 5:30 a.m. Fire officials said the fire appears to have started near a wood stove.
