Gaming commission chairman says Everett casino interest good for competition

Stephen Crosby, chairman of the State Gaming Commission, said developer Steve Wynn’s interest in building a casino in Everett could stir competition for the one casino license available in Eastern Massachusetts.

“We’ve been encouraging competition across the state,” Crosby said in a brief interview Wednesday, following his address to the North Shore Chamber of Commerce in Danvers. “I think the public will be much better served if there is more than one proposal.”

Comments

Steve Wynn wants to make more money with a world-class casino. More money is good! There is 'big money' in the North East and only ONE license available for Eastern Massachusetts.

Mr. Wynn, get yourself some knowledgeable consultants in your search for a casino location. No need to locate in the Everett dump pile - or side-by-side with the casinos in the MA Southern area.

People don't want to sight-see _ they want to gamble! Mr. Wynn get property close to the New Hampshire border. No issues with traffic. Great roads for access, and close to CDN!

Win - win situation.
