Silber’s legacy remembered at BU memorial service

Boston University celebrated the legacy of its former president and chancellor John Silber, depicted in the portrait. Family, friends, and colleagues remembered his leadership and his vision yesterday. Silber arrived at BU when it was struggling to stay solvent. As president, he put the school on strong financial ground and greatly bolstered its academic standing. Novelist Tom Wolfe spoke at the assembly.
