A 21-year-old is facing murder charges in the shooting of a man on Leicester Street in Brighton on Nov. 19, Boston Police said. Patrick Malone of Brighton is accused of killing Leroy Cooper, 26, of Brewster. Malone also faces armed robbery and drug trafficking charges, authorities said. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Brighton District Court. US marshals accompanied officers from the city police department’s fugitive unit to arrest Malone on Friday, officials said. Police found Cooper suffering from a gunshot wound near 114 Leicester St. about 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 19, officials said. He was taken to a hospital where he died. Cooper had come to Massachusetts from California to attend college. He studied hospitality at Newbury College in Brookline from 2004 to 2008 and played on the men’s volleyball team.
