TAUNTON, Mass. (AP) — A one-car crash in southeastern Massachusetts has killed two people and injured four others.
Taunton police say the car slammed into a tree off Bay Street shortly before 12:30 a.m. Sunday after having crossed over the wrong side of the road. Firefighters had to use a mechanic device to pry open the car to get to the victims.
Authorities haven’t released the names of the victims.
Police say two passengers were pronounced dead at Morton Hospital in Taunton. The driver and three other passengers are being treated at Rhode Island Hospital. Their conditions haven’t been released.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
