One man dies after early morning double stabbing

One man died and another man was hospitalized after a double stabbing in Haverhill early Sunday, according to the Essex district attorney’s office. Misael Lima, 24, died after he and the other victim were brought to Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill at 1:25 a.m., Carrie Kimball Monahan, a spokeswoman for the Essex District Attorney, said in an e-mail. Authorities believe the stabbing occurred on Grove Street in Haverhill, Monahan said. The second victim, who was not identified and is expected to survive, was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital. Haverhill police and State Police detectives assigned to the Essex district attorney’s office are investigating.
