Motorcyclist dies in Braintree crash

A man died after the motorcycle he was riding crashed in Braintree on Sunday night, police said.

Authorities believe the motorcyclist lost control while heading south on Washington Street near Wampatuck Road, Braintree police said in a statement.

Witness accounts indicated that speed was a factor, the statement said.

The man was taken to South Shore Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police. The man’s identity is being withheld, pending notification of family.
