Burglar wakes sleeping police officer in Duxbury

An off-duty Duxbury police officer taking a nap Monday afternoon got a rude awakening when a burglar burst into his bedroom, Duxbury police said. The burglar is still on the loose. The man broke into the officer’s home on Lincoln Street in Duxbury at 1 p.m., police said. The burglar ran into an upstairs bedroom where the officer was sleeping, but when the officer confronted the man, he quickly ran out of the home, police said. Duxbury police, State Police, and Marshfield police responded and searched the area for two hours using K-9 units, police said.
