Man, 23, shot in Dorchester, sustains life-threatening injuries


A 23-year-old man was shot several times and suffered life-threatening injuries Thursday night in Dorchester, police said. A call reporting the shooting at 66 Elmont St. came in at 8:36 p.m., though police believe the shooting occurred closer to 39 Elmont St., Superintendent Kenneth Fong of the Boston police said at the scene of the shooting. The victim, who has not been identified, was struck three or four times and was taken to Boston Medical Center, Fong said. Police were searching for the suspect late Thursday night.
