Reindeer recuperating from knee surgery

A young female reindeer is recuperating after undergoing knee surgery at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University’s Grafton campus. Willow, a 1½-year-old reindeer, is in stable condition after clinicians performed the procedure to treat a condition caused when a kneecap is dislocated. Willow normally lives with two other reindeer at the Stone Zoo in Stoneham, and is recovering in the zoo hospital in Boston’s Franklin Park Zoo, which is managed by the same organization that runs Stone Zoo.
