Governor Deval Patrick and other gun control advocates are renewing their push for tougher gun laws in Massachusetts in the aftermath of the massacre at a Connecticut elementary school.
Patrick said Monday that he urged House and Senate leaders to act on legislation that he previously introduced, which would, among other changes, forbid buyers from purchasing more than one gun a month. The bill has languished in the Legislature for at least two years.

Actually, you can buy an AR15 in Massachusetts.
The ignorance on the subject of guns is appalling. Witness this excerpt from the governor's statement, "...some kind of balance that can be struck between the interests of sportsmen and hunters and the need to keep automatic weapons and large magazines with all these rounds and the kind of ammunition that was used in Newtown off the streets.” The so-called assault weapons are semi-automatic as are almost all rifles and pistols. The difference between an "assault rifle" and a hunting rifle is appearance. I'm all for gun control (and smaller magazines and less lethal ammo), but it would be helpful if the people who advocate it knew what they're talking about.

Gun laws are obeyed and followed by registered gun owners. More laws on legal gun owners will not solve the problem. The Progressive Liberal practices and philosophy allows little responsibility for ones acts and diciplin in schools and home is near extinction. Christian beliefs and responsible moral character has been replaced by governmental rights and examples of greed and lusts for power and wealth.Education has influenced the US bcitizens for 50 years in the Progressive Liberal beliefs of today (example Boston Tea Party was an act of terrorism)Our history presented to this generation is flawed with numerous adjusted facts to suit the present"takers" philosphy. A more practical answer is that the system of governmental influence on the moral character of citizens needs to be replaced by accountability responsibility and personal honesty for all acts. The laws should reflect these principals and the courts should illustrate them.Freedom has responsibility and accountability or it is lost. An armed government and a disarmed citizens (or the availability of information to the government to do so) is a power grab waiting to happen by the government as history has illustrated numerous times in the past.
Whatever. Next?
