Man allegedly had six stolen guns

Police said a Halifax man had six stolen guns in his possession when he was arrested Friday in East Boston. Peter Hilliard, 48, was apprehended at an electronics store on Meridian Street, where he had taken an allegedly stolen laptop for repairs, Boston police said. Officers later found two rifles and four handguns in his pickup truck, prosecutors said. Hilliard was arraigned Monday in East Boston District Court on six counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, as well as charges of drug possession and receiving stolen property.
