A St. Johnsbury man shot by a state trooper in a Danville school parking lot is facing a series of charges. William Mahoney, 36, was issued citations Thursday for offenses that include assault on a police officer, unlawful trespass, and negligent operation. Police said Mahoney was shot by a state trooper Sept. 18 after he stealing a vehicle and then hiding in a Danville school bus and broadcasting threats on a school radio. He was shot after he made what police said were threatening moves toward a trooper. Mahoney spent more than a month in the hospital.
